Rishikesh

Sat 3rd November
It was a hot hot day and we have been sleeping so well since we got to India we had a lie in untill 10 oclock, then made our way back to the same street chai place as yesturday and said hi to our little friends. We then spent a good few hours lazing on the edge of the Ganga, reading and trying to sun ourselves.. we have been feeling incredibly white and western since the moment we stepped of the plane! We wandered for most of the afternoon around the different cafes and side streets, exploring the less touristy areas and being hasseled for photos as we went. I have come to realise that being a 6ft and Ginger woman in India is quite an anomily. We tested out Coffee Corner which is recommended by the guide books it wasnt incredible, there is so much brown rice/tofu/bean burger stuff here which is clearly a direct result of the hords of american Yogi fantatics that stream through the place all day long. Not to criticise... its just a little odd.

For dinner we discovered a little stall run by two boys no more that 13, they served 8 delicious Tibetan dumplings with spicey sauce and peanut sauce for just 50 rs, street food in India is the absolute best! We havnt tasted anything we havent loved yet and these were no exception, absolutly delicious!!

Aam is Mango
Kela is Bannana
Thanda means cold and the river was 'bahut thanda' as it dribbled away from glaciers in the himalayers!
