Thur
8th - Jodphur
Checked
out of Durag Villa's at about 10.30, it was okay, but so far out of town, we really missed the hub bub! Caught an auto rickshaw at the
end of the street to the clock tower which is the centre of the veg and textile markets.
We checked out Shivam guest house the night before, but the room we looked at had already gone so the teenage boy who showed us round gave us an even nicer one for the same price (400 rupes). Its a nice shabby chick hostel, cosy, clean and the staff were smiley! We went upstairs for brekkie, the food was good and cheap enough, Indian breakfast was only 125 rupe's for a plate of pakoras, raita and parantha + Plus a pot of Indian Tea! We ended up spending the entire day in this little place, their roof was the perfect sun trap away from the madness of the city below. Roof tops are the best places to be in India, you can get space and air from the street and the majority of domestic activity seems to happen on them, We had the view of the fort up there and could watch all of Jodhpur's life playing out on the roof tops around us.
